Just one to take from the quayside this morning in Albert Dock.
1973, 1167gt by Allied, Vancouver (180) as LADY JOYCE then as JOYCE TIDE 74-89
Many names since and changed in March 2015 from RAMCO EXPRESS.

What is it, I wonder, that gives so many of these first and second generation ORSVs (Tug/Supply ships) an extra lease of life, some 50-100%, more than many other types of ships?

This particular vessel completed 42 years ago this month.

Ron, the ORSV's from that period do seem to have been well built hulls and with a constant re-cycling into different roles .... the DOS stands for Deep Ocean Salvage ... their lives have certainly been extended.
Equivalent to a 1918 freighter when we started in 1960, Ron!!
