DI Moonigal Sir

Your investigations are correct, a British Company operating in Mozambique

The following information was posted on TugTalk by David Asprey:

"WSS Cochrane list has initial owner as Beira Works, and Colledge records her only as "hired" (from 10/1939) rather than purchased.

She is named after the Revué river which runs into Beira harbour.

Portuguese Government took over from Beira Works Co Ltd, I think soon after WW2. The original concession expired in 1941 (and I suppose extended at the time); in 1948-1950 were extensive negotiations over the future operation of Beira Port and disputes in 1951 between the port company and Portuguese/Mozambique authorities. I suspect that that is when the Portuguese Government took over.

The Beira Port Co Ltd was liquidated in 1954 and the Beira Works Co in the following year"
