A postcard of the Newcastle Quay Side from Kevin Blair with what appears to be PHRYGIA berthed alongside.
If I have the right one:
Built as: BOGOTA
Yard: Unterweser, Lehe
Year: 1938
IMO: 5277476
Names: 1944 TEIHO MARU - 1950 BOGOTA - 1955 ASTRID SVEN - 1958 PHRYGIA - 1963 ALCYONE
End: 1964
Fate: Sank 11/05/1964 after a fire off the coast of Senegal

Did they still have horse-and-cart sets and elderly motor trucks on the Quayside in 1958-1963?
Suggest it is earlier and perhaps Hamburg-Amerika's PHRYGIA of 1928, which they scuttled off Tampico 16.11.40 as they daren't set sail for Germany.
The earlier one (1900) can be discounted.

I think you are correct George. In fact PHRYGIA was at Newcastle in November 1932 and June 1933.
