Once commonplace, but now something of a rarity, an RFA entering the Tyne. Wave Knight arriving from Plymouth for Northumbrian Quay this morning.

Wave Knight has now paid off and will remain in 3 basin Pompey dockyard for who knows how long. It is called extended readiness which her sister Wave Ruler has been in for 5 years berthed off the Mersey.

Apparently RFA manpower is seriously under strength so where do you find the men. Sure i heard recently there are a few hundred spare seamen from some ferry outfit.
Thats all folks. Sean.

New owners for this pair Wave Knight and Wave Ruler.

Fortunate they appear to be in good condition, maybe extended readiness has benefits bearing in mind they were not stuck up some rancid creek unmaintained and left to deteriorate. Let's hope the public purse, yes, you and me, will benefit not that any figures will ever be published.

No immediate time frame announced for their future, new owners are Inocea who state they will be hugely beneficial with many years steaming ahead of them...

To put things in perspective the RFA still can't muster the manpower and pay them a decent wage to even man the Waves successors the 4 Tides let alone the future Resurgent and her intended sisters. On reflection, their is no navy left that needs their support.
Thats all folks. Sean.
