Cattistock, named for a hunt in Dorsetshire, is nearing completion of a major refit in Pompey which should extend her RN career by a further 10 years. That would be 50 years as she is already 40 years young together with sister Hunts Ledbury, Brocklesby, Chiddingfold, Middleton and Hurworth all of the same vintage.

Quite an achievement and evidence that remote mine counter measures and sweeping is still in its infancy and unproven. Shame so many Sandowns have now been prematurely sold. Grimsby and Shoreham to Ukraine, Blyth and Ramsey to Romania.
