ABDUL RAZAAK SANUSI (6802216), Hainsworth Watson (UK) Ltd, Liverpool (which I admit is quite a surprise!), 2377gt,
completed Rendsburg 11-1967
1967 GRATIA - 1977 ABDUL RAZAAK SANUSI - 1979 FIONE - 2007 CAPTAIN UFUK (recorded as still in service)

River Tees (Eston Jetty, by the look of it? Or, on second thoughts, Billingham Reach?), circa July 1979. Albert Weller slide:

Yes strange..

Hainsworth Watson (UK) Ltd
Harley Buildings.
11 Oldhall Street.
Liverpool 3.

They seem to be a very short lived company and only had the one ship.

Great Name though! One would have to be very, very careful about how one pronounced her current name mind.

Yes, Billingham Reach.

Good view in the background of, what would have been then the
new, Portrack Chimnney. Spectacularly demolished
a few years ago !!

Now this might be a bit of a surprise as well, but Hainsworth Watson were formed in 1977 and were part of James Fisher & Sons Limited. Those well known Shipowners and Managers of Barrow.

Its not 100% clear, however at the very least they acted as Managers for Hainsworth Watson.

ABDUL RAZAAK SANUSI at Billingham Reach 22.05.79 and as the FIONE at Aberdeen in October 1981. There is no reference to
Hainsworth/Watson in the Story of James Fisher & Sons, Around The Coast And Across The Seas,by Nigel Watson published in 2000.

..... and I had completely forgotten I had seen her underway as FIONE sailing from Tees Dock on 31 October 1982! (After all, that is 31 years ago ... and nearer the start of my interest in ships 53 years ago today, than it is to the present! [I know, excuses, excuses!]):

And, again, berthed in Tees Dock on 23 March 1983:

... and 27 March 1983:

Don't these old black and whites do full justice to those Helmsing funnel colours, eh?

Laid up in Manila Bay for the last four years or so after been seized by authorities and found to have a quantity of arms on board. Found a site offering for scrap ' as is'
Interesting that her owners retained Helmsing's funnel markings. Turkish managed, Phillipinbes owned, Cypriot owned. Heh hum. Think there is a good pic in Marine News from years ago arriving in the Tyne with a heavy list after her deck cargo of timber shifted. If it aint her then it was her sister ship.

Cheers
