The VENASSA was built at Kiel in 1958. The midship section was removed at Boele's shipyard in Holland for use as a floating dock. The bow and stern sections were rejoined and the much shortened "vessel" arrived at Blyth to be broken up on 4.6.1976.

Hello George -I thought I'd got this system OK but something went wrong with the picture of the VENASSA - shipbreaking at Blyth. I'm attaching it again so hopefully it is OK this time. Regards, Harold.

Good evening Harold, I had just realised the cunningly disguised identity of HSA31 ..... initials and age, very clever :D
Yes as you can see, the photo has appeared now so hopefully you are on the right track.
Lots more good NE oldies in your files .....

Going by Dates the one up the Gut could be the GUNVOR BROVIG, a Tanker of 12,111 Tons which arrived on the 15th December 1975 or more likely the Indian Ore/Oil Carrier VARUNA KANGHAN of 16,785 tons which arrived on the 23rd February 1976.

Smashing picture though Harold.

Never guessed it was you... :) :)
