Daring at Hughes Bolkow on 29 June 1971, two weeks after her arrival, with Lackenby alongside.

But LACKENBY didn't end her days at Hughes Bolkow. I understand she was beached further up the River Blyth and rotted away/was broken up there.

Lackenby was lying up river until 1981/82.
Do not know the story behind how she got there or who broke her up though

Not all of Daring ended up at Blyth as scrap I remember visiting the Breakers with the Chilean crew of the Almirante Williams who purchased quite a lot of items that were subsequently incorporated into their ship during its refit at Wallsend.

That sounds like the scenario from the 70s going to the scrapyard for parts for my Cortina.
