There is a lot of expensive cutting to get through the pressure hull.

The boats were broken up by a company called "Dockside Salvage Ltd"

I think the green shed to the right in couple of views may have been used by Doig`s to build Ton class minesweepers - they launched 11 between 1922 and 1957.

The remains astern of the subs are of the dredger Abercraig.

Datewise it should be the old Dundee Ferry BUT cannot see them bringing her from Malta where she had been converted into a barge. Also its not the one that was laid-up on the Tyne for years......

So it must be one that never featured in Mr Lloyds big book....

The only other ABERCRAIG on file here is the ex MOB 9 but she was running to 2004 plus.

not sure where I got the name Abercraig from - certainly not the Tyne Abercraig nor a Scottish ferry - I only saw it on it`s side in the mud - I will see if i have any better view from my subs pics.

I have extracted the mystery vessel from a view taken 22 March 1992. It has the stumps of horns on the bow and a strong derrick post so maybe a mooring vessel. Sqaure bridge windows and a squareish sloping bow.

This will be the remains of RECOVERY - IIRC she turned over in the basin.
