The former Yorkshireman in trouble in the channel last night. Info and photos from Nigel Scutt of Dover Marina Website/Facebook page and Mutiny Diving of Dover
The morning after the night before....
Thanks to both the Dauntless and the Doughty, The NAS Pathfinder and her tow, another tug, Puma were brought into the safety of the Port of Dover in the early hours.
Puma is an interesting tug and no doubt will be more familiar to some of us as the ex Alexandra Towing tug Yorkshireman, completed by Cochranes in 1978.
Having had spells as Salvigour. Comenda, Mira A and Marechiaro, she now sports the somewhat hastily painted name Puma and appears to be registered in Tanzania. Looks like she'll be needing a few pots of paint when and if she eventually gets there.....
NAS Pathfinder experienced problems last night when her 500 metre tow apparently caught up with her and gave her a bump. At one stage drifting in the wrong direction in the SW Lane, about six miles from the port, it was the two Dover tugs that rapidly assisted and resolved a potentially dangerous and difficult situation.
Well done guys!
Anyone got any paint.....?!
Many thanks to Chris at Mutiny Diving for the use of Maverick this morning.
