Former Lower Ouse survey vessel, seen today at Keadby under new ownership
Her Trent connection is that she was built by Watson at Gainsborough in 1962.

Good to see her today back in her old colours, passing Far Ings inward. A lot of engine noise and a heavy smell of diesel exhaust on the breeze!

In the Marina at Goole today, she has recently been bought by Chris Sherburn who has sold his SOUTHCLIFFE, quite a change for him!
In good hands anyway.

On balance I would rather have the SOUTHCLIFFE. But she looks a lot of work to keep up.

I think Chris saw SOUTHCLIFFE as a project and having restored her to an excellent standard he is ready to move on .... also the OP will need rather less number of crew to sail her!

We took Wheldale down to the hoist yesterday to pump out the 3 pans to get them ready for the new season's dock trips. When we got back we met Colin Matthias from Westwoodside who had never been to the Museum before. He explained as an apprentice with Watsons he remembered taking OP on to the Humber for trials at the measured mile. Chris wasn't there yesterday but as Brian Newstead off Conservacy is one of our new crew members he took Colin down to take some pics of OP. I have put Colin in touch with our Chris who is now lock-keeper at Cromwell Lock.

Welcome to our site Wheldale, like the name!
Good to have some news of goings-on there.
Give my regards to Chris Sherburn when you see him.
