Must admit I thought this vessel had been posted to NEM previously, but apparently not!

When I first saw her in 1997 I was able to look up her details in the then current Lloyd's Register and the record I made at that time is that she was completed in August 1994 by Hepworth Shipyard Ltd., Paull.
Checking her details now in Equasis I note they show her date of build as 1955 and reference to the latest register I have, for 2005-6, confirms that she was originally built in 1955 in the USA (location not shown) as a non-propelled deck-cargo pontoon, until converted to a Diving Support Vessel upon becoming REBECCA M in 1994.

From an old Riversea caption .... 2004

"Thanks to Alan Bishop for identifying her hull form as that of former US barge, Philip Simons then did some checking and her dimensions of 120ft. x 33ft. match those of a US BC-barge type and this has been confirmed by Humber Workboats ... they think she was built around 1955 but have no record of her original hull number."

Appropriately enough, we were on our way back from a Christmas visit to our eldest son in Peterborough, so good to again spot this veteran named after our daughter-in-law!!

This, I think, will complete another enjoyable year of ship observing and photography. A total of 336 sightings, 179 being new to me, producing 1303 photographs.

Hope 2016 is as good, if not even better.

All the best to my fellow Forumites.
Ron
