This aerial view from around 1920 shows the Livingstone & Cooper shipyard, situated on the upstream side of Hessle Haven in an area which is now a public park.
At the fitting-out jetty is one of their larger ships, possibly one of a trio built for French owners, SAINT BASILE, SAINT DIDIER and SAINT ROMINIQUE in 1920/1921.
The yard operated here approx 1914-1925, in succession to Thomas Dobson's yard on this site approx 1903-1908.
