Completed in 1950 by Henry Scarr Ltd. for Wm. Muller & Co. (London) Ltd.
She served Mullers for twenty seven years before going to a succession of other owners under the names DOXA, ELIVA, ASOPI, St. PATRICK and ANTONELLO before going to ship breakers in Tunisia in 1989.
Captured passing Custom House Quay, Greenock, on 30th June 1965

Fitting out in Hessle Haven, I think these were built with low air draught for the Paris or similar trades.

The Parent Company was Wm H Muller & Co. N.V. based in Rotterdam, which at the same time were operating 15 Ships.
Cargo Services were:-
London to Antwerp-Rouen-Paris-Casablanca.
Liverpool to Rouen and Paris.
Manchester to Rouen and Paris.
Glasgow to Rouen and Paris.
King's Lynn to Rotterdam.
Boston to Rotterdam.
Middlesbrough to Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
Aberdeen to Rotterdam.
London to Rotterdam.
Chatham to Rotterdam.

My sighting of SOMME was at Liverpool 23/04/1966 so may well have been heading for Paris.
