Collision Incident off Hull

Collision Incident off Hull

Postby Hornbeam » Tue Mar 11, 2025 1:20 pm

This Incident/accident in regards to the collision between the two vessels in the last few days seems rather curious bearing in mind other curious incidents and/ accidents happening concerning the “inferstructure” of Western Europe.
Hull was/is known as a Class A Port for those who may not know it is the main downloading point for the US Bases in England specifically for Aircraft Fuels, this vast underground pipeline was laid during the Cold War by the the Americans and is still in use today, although a number of American Bases have closed down since the pipe work and receiving tanks were installed they are still in place although “Blanked Off”
Is it just me?

Further to the above it appears from the this morning papers that the Captain of the Container Vessel is a Russian National ( to be verified) that T Boned the American Tanker, he will be I would suggest a Commander in the Russian Navy.
The Plot thickens.
Let us hope that the American Air Force in G.B.have +15% in their Fuel Storage facilities in case of Emergencies.
*The figure of +15% comes from the old Merchant Navy days, however judging by the event when the Cruise Ship lost power and nearly ran aground off Norway due to low levels in her Lub Oil Tanks triggering the Low Level Alarms shutting the Main Engines down the +15% may no longer apply.

Not only the Captain but also part Russian Crew, I wonder if th missing chap was doing the Bridge Watch is /was Russian and is now sitting in his Dacha having a Vodka we will never know.
Elvington Airfield built as a standard Bomber Airfield during WW2 for the RAF and then taken over by the Free French and then the place was taken over by the Americans during the Cold War as a Diversion Aifield for their Nuclear carrying Aircraft, the Runway was extended and a huge Hardstanding was built which is next to the smashing Aircraft Museum.
The fuel storage tanks fed from the Humber by pipeline are still underneath the Hardstanding and now remain unused as the Americans never moved in after all that expense.
