STAR BONAIRE at Hull, built 1997 at Harlingen. Looks to me like a standard coaster but finished as a tanker. Must be some sort of specialist cargo.

Yes a standard hull but completed as a vegetable oil tanker.
The company Koole specialises in this cargo, with the STAR ..... fleet.

These were my last photos, taken in fading light, after a day of sitting at the Slag Maasmond, Maasvlakte, at the mouth of the New Waterway, watching a total of 63 ships go by! My wife treated me to a there and back trip on the PRIDE OF HULL as an advance present for my 70th birthday on Thursday (Bonfire Night). Can't think of much better presents! Taking advantage of a special offer from P&O meant it cost us only £21 to take our car with us for this trip!

Earlier that day we had seen her now veteran running mate, which I also first saw at Hull in 1996.

As mentioned on another thread, note the very large house flag flying up forward.
