MONICA in Drypool Basin

A fine period view of a German coaster discharging timber in the Drypool Basin, Victoria Dock, Hull,
this was the original entrance to the Dock from the River Hull at Drypool.

Her funnel colours and port of registry allow her to be identified as
1936, 359grt
Howaldstswerke, Kiel (y.n.??)
Owned in late 1950's by H.J.Badewein (manager Robt. Bornhofen) of Warsingfehn
Sold 1966 and renamed BELGARD
Sank on 21/10/1967 in pos. 56.21N 07.21E on a voyage from Arendal for Duisburg
