Hi,

A few more from my misspent ? youth at the Pier and along the docks :-

Unknown SC collier off the pier, around 1965/66.

SPERO.jpg

EWL's SPERO at her berth in KGD.

SPERO 66/6916 BU Alang 2004.

Forgroud the stern of Uniteds Serviceman, this was the only occassion I saw this tug, despite regular visits to the docks.

Once I find it will post a photo of Speros running mate from Swedish Lloyd.

Regards
Simon

Nostalgia abounds, Simon!
I think the Stivvie Clarke is likely to be SEAFORD, here is a Charlie Hill photo of her for comparison
SEAFORD47 CH.jpg

and this might be one of Charlie's as well, on the hoist in Ouse Dock

From Austin's in 1947 and sold in 1971.

Thinking caps on please gents for this one :

As far as I can remember the Green Parrot is Rialto, she matches the photo in theWSS Wilson book albeit with the addition of the WILSON LINE legend on the hull. I think the photo is from 1967. The one ahead of her I am stuck on, I thought at first it was a SCINDIA, but the funnel markings are wrong.

Any thoughts would be greatfully received.

Simon

Can't quite place it but think she is German with a double word name.
RIALTO is correct as I think she was the only one to get the name on the side, sold in 1970 as last of the class
CONSUELO sold 1963
BASSANO and MARENGO sold 1967

George,

Thanks for the confirmation of the Rialto, looks like an afternoon will have to spend looking through my Ian Allan Ocean Freighters books... - how we suffer for our hobbies !!

Humber Pilot cutter J. H. Fisher

img035.jpg

Taken from one of the Humber Ferries Sunday afternoon cruises. Must have been summer 1962 as the Fisher was lost 12th January 1963 after been hit by the Esso Glasgow River Humber, 1.5 miles SW of Chequer Light float, 2.7 miles West South West of the Spurn LV.
