We arrived at Hull after a 90-mile drive and it was pouring down. I thought what a way to introduce my fiancee Anne to the delights of Hull Docks! 50 years later I'm pleased to say my wife is still happy to join me while dock-trotting, whether sitting in the car, or relaxing in a cruise-ship lounge.

And there was this ship ready and waiting for me in the locks. Or simply lying in the tanker berth next to the locks? - memory fades.

The tanker is on 7 Quay, next to the lock, probably therefore with molasses.
