I found this postcard in my "treasures"
On the 16 August 1956 we, my family and I, had a tour of the Fasan and had afternoon tea with the Captain. The thing I still remember is drinking German lemonade through a straw straw!
She was owned by Argo Reederei Richard Adler & Sohne, Bremen and sailed from Albert Dock to Hamburg and Bremen and return. She carried 12 passengers.
The Captain told us that she had been sunk in bombing raid during the war, was raised and the damaged part replaced.
I was 12 at the time and I was given an Argo sailor man which I still have. He is a bit faded now but the memories have not!

Nice souvenir Michael, Miramar site advises 'sunk 21.11.44, raised 1949 & repaired', no doubt a victim of the R.A.F.
She was sold in 1958 to Hellenic Mediterranean Lines as MEDIA, lasting a further 10 years.

Googled her as I was interested to see what she looked like before she was bombed and sunk, unfortunately no pre sunk photographs but an advert for a 1950's Sailing Card at £9.99 if Micheal is interested?

Thanks George, found her "Sister" Ship down as 'Wickenburgh' ex Adler, (barring for one) old Compound steam jobs with a BW LP Turbine (which I have experience of) she was not sunk and was taken over by the M.O.W.T.
Later changed to Diesel both appear to have ended up with the Greeks with a decent Lifeboat provision ;)
