Andoni Palm-- Palm Line Ltd--5802grt in KGD August 1970

This is the last ship I photographed in Hull. I got married in 1971 and I have not been to Hull since apart from passing thro' a few years ago on my way to the YWT reserve at Spurn.
I think I saw the good days of the Docks and the freedom to wander about unhindered. I will treasure these memories.

PS I have some of Goole to post from 1970. I made a few visits to the Tyne and a couple of visits to Liverpool. The latter not being in the North East!

Andoni Palm was the first Palm liner l went on as a Water clerk for their agents McGregor Gow and Holland in Hull.

We had all the UKWAL lines apart from Ghana Black Star. EDL were very formal, Palm very homely and friendly NNSL was a law unto themselves !!

Thanks for this Hull set, Michael, oodles of nostalgia, 1970 was the first year I started there permanently for BTDB's stevedoring company and we did the Palm and Nigerian boats.

"I got married in 1971 and I have not been to Hull since" .... really that's no excuse!
I also got married in 1971 and have hardly left Hull since ... but then, she was a Hull girl (no escape still after 48 years ..... )
