fire 42.42S/173.20E 11.6.78 (2 lost) [Timaru-Nukualofa, meat] & ac/b (bombed by aircraft) as a target 43.15S/173.56E 17.6.78

I saw Kemphaan in Bridlington sometime during the 1960's. Whenever it was it would have been in August as that was where we went for our holidays. Came with a cargo of fresh bilberries from Poland. Word at the time was that it was a diversion as there was a dock strike at Hull.

Highly likely, we always seemed to have one! KEMPHAAN was refrigerated to would have suited the fruit trade. This cargo would normally have been on the BALTIC SUN or the Polish boats into Albert Dock.
