KG Lock Failure

In case anyone is wondering the reason for the ferry shuffles today is that the lock at KG is out of action. PRIDE OF HULL berthed on RT1 this morning and then shifted to the Bull Anchorage to allow PRIDE OF YORK to berth on the river terminal. PRIDE OF HULL will position back to RT1 once PRIDE OF YORK has departed for Zeebrugge this evening. PRIDE OF BRUGES remains on 5 Quay. The next listed movement at KG is HENRIKE SCHEPERS out at 13:45 which would infer that the lock will soon be back in action.

Cheers

It is presumably only the full length lock out of action as there have been a number of small vessel movements in the last 24 hours.

One of the inners (west I think) is out of action, possibly for two days. Pride of Bruges passing through lock on the level as I type this with unaccompanied frieght only.

Federal Fuji had been scheduled inwards yesterday, still out at the HLF.

More problems with the gates at KG. From the P&O website:

Hull Zeebrugge/Rotterdam route

This is the update for 06:00hrs Tuesday 1st April 2014.

Services from Hull have changed due to technical problems with the lock gates .The Pride of Rotterdam arrives as normal at 07.00 hrs and will sail at around 21.30hrs, The Pride of Brugge is expected to arrive at around 11.00hrs discharge and load and sail at 18.30hrs. Services from Zeebrugge and Rotterdam are operating to schedule with spaces currently available

PRIDE OF ROTTERDAM waiting off RT1 Tuesday evening for the departure of PRIDE OF BRUGES.

This situation must be costing P&O a small fortune.

Just back from a round trip either side of this, out to Zeebrugge on Sunday and back from Rotterdam today, in the fog!
Not bad over there, warm, little or no wind but hazy early and late.
Quite busy on Schelde and Europoort.
