It's a disguise! The ship is actually the AFRICA PALM/72, on charter to Columbus Line. Think it was the start of the slippery slop to the company winding up. Taken in QE2 dock.

Joruna 74
Africa Palm 83
Santa Barbara Pacific '83
Africa Palm '83
Messaria '84
Tong Chau '95
Tong Zhou '95
Brilliant 8 '96
Luxury '98 Demolished

Nice one, think I must have missed her call at Hull although working there in 1983.
A product of Warnowwerft in 1972, 10688gt, yard number 376 and briefly JORUNA as you mention before Palm bought her.
Ahead is our regular container ship on the Leningrad service .... PIONER VYBORGA, I think?

Columbus Line otherwise known as:-

Hambur-Sudamerikanische Dampfschiffahrts-Gesellschaft Eggert & Amsinck, Ost-West-Strasse, Hamburg.

Real Owner Rudolf A Oetker.

By the time they changed all the names it would be the end of the charter!
