THIRLMERE.
Built Holland in 1955 as the Icelandic Tanker KYNDILL.
778 Gross. 969 Dwt.
Sold in 1973 to Ball and Plumb Shipping Co Ltd, London.
Bought by Effluents Services Ltd, London in 1974 and renamed THIRLMERE.
Broken up at Milford Haven, arriving 1st August 1988.
I'm assuming the discharge pipes are over the stern so the screw can break up the Cargo and help it disperse.
Later of course the practice was banned.
