Scarborough Evening News 28/02/2002:- Boats in distress. - Whitby lifeboat spent more than three hours at sea today after a fishing boat started sinking two miles off Robin Hood’s Bay. An emergency call was received just after 5 a.m. from the SARAH THINNENSEN, a 24ft Whitby vessel. Skipper David Horsley and his son Scott managed to get into a life raft and were picked up by the lifeboat as a helicopter from RAF Leconfield stood by.
The lifeboat then answered a distress call from the SHAUN DAWN, with three people on board, which had broken down about a mile from the area. It was towed in to Whitby by the lifeboat just after 8 p.m
I thought the name rang a bell.
