In the Claarts

To get round the back of the former Bate's colliery site you pass the reed ponds constructed to filter the water which seeps out of the old workings.
On Tuesday the ponds had been drained and I guess, from the stacks of plants near the fence, they were restocking the reeds.
Captions welcome.
I will start with Muddy Waters or, for those of us with small grandchildren, Muddy Puddles. Oink Oink!
NB claarts is Northumbrian for mud (that's the polite version!)

"I wanna sing
I wanna shout
I wanna scream 'til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers, I'm not afraid
They can reed all about it, reed all about it"

Reed Ponds great idea, ICI were great believers in using this method of filtration to prevent some of their 'nasties' entering into water courses, lets hope that this is the only sort of 'Plant' they are used for in the future, ICI Wilton/? whatever it is called now have some lovely gardens next to the Offices and were tended by a devoted Gardeners, unfortunately for one of them somebody else was having a closer look at the fine display of flowers recognised the pungent smell of another type of weed/reed which was craftily hidden out of the way in the hope that the smell of the normal flowers would mask it. Mind you some of the strange decisions made in ICI which led to its downfall makes you wonder if? ;)
Warning Notices can induce a blind spot in some especially when they say "Do not enter these Docks" :D Ron@?

Must admit never had any problems with the British Transport Police as a youngster when I was wandering around Hartlepool Docks looking at the Reserve Fleet on a Sunday Morning, did get into trouble off my Mother as I was supposed to be at Church  Does anybody remember the large grass covered concrete Bunker on the corner next to the crossing at the Seaton Carew end.
