Arklow Wood

One of the new class of Arklow boats she was completed last year at Leer.
Miramar have her as a 149m vessel with a 9,000grt and 16,800dwt
The previous W class, which was built in Japan as the second generation for the Alcan contract, were 136m ,8900grt, 14,000dwt and looked a lot bigger than the new W's.
And she does not have side lifting gear, it's an A frame left on the quay. Optical illusion!

Graham

The side launchings are quite spectacular and bring back memories of the launches at Beverley, Ron@?
