Arklow Wave (2018)

Postby creemaster » Mon Mar 16, 2020 4:43 pm

Discharging alumina at the SUF (Ship Unloading Facility) aka Alcan Terminal, even though the Alcan smelter up the coast closed some years ago!
From Augnish and back to Augnish
It's now railroaded up to Scotland, well how many lorries does that take off the road? (I am sure some of you in self isolation will do the calculations :) )
The 2003 ship of the same name was built with two others to take over the contract from Stevies and was sold in 2018 to free the name and was converted to a cement carrier on the Canadian register. This one was built at Leer in Germany, but I prefer the 2003 version. This one looks like she has a bow reminiscent of a pre-dreadnought battleship.
George will remember those when he was a lad!
Regards
Graham
