NOTICE TO MARINERS NO 05 OF 2019

Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult Remediation works to the quayside.
All Mariners, Fishermen and Harbour users are to be advised that remedial works to the river frontage at the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (OREC) site on the south bank of the River Blyth. This involves the removal of obsolete structures and repairing/reinforcing the river wall. The works will be carried out in compliance to MMO Licence L/2019/00335/1

The remedial works will involve the following: - Demolition of an open timber quay structure. - Removal of derelict front gates of Dock 1 and Dock 2. - Removal of redundant remnants associated with the removed dock - Repairs to concrete and masonry surfaces at the removed remnants. - Removal of the derelict front gate of Dock 3. - Repairs to concrete surfaces showing cracking and spalling. - Repairs to RC piles showing cracking, spalling and corrosion to reinforcement. - Repairs to damaged infill concrete planks of wall - Installation of engineered rock armour - Provision of local arrangement of the revetment assuring adequate surround to the existing surface water sewage outfalls.
