Blyth shipping past and present

J LAY PART 2

The J-LAY equipment eventually left Blyth this morning bound for Burntisland in tow of MTS VANQUISH.
The Wagenborg barge which is carrying her had been in the port since a year past January while the machinery was assembled in the South Harbour over a longer period by IHC.
And there were some bits shipped in from elsewhere under the guise of 'project cargoes'
Pictures were taken while she was just north of Newbiggin and she is now off Seahouses.
BBC Newcastle reported her destination as a secret, well that was blown out of the water when you check the tug's AIS and I have been told IHC have quoted a daily hire figure of 15,000 quid for the equipment.
Regards
Graham
