Deck cargo on EEMSLIFT NADINE, she, or he, is a fire boat destined for Marseilles and built in Boulogne.
Lieutenant-Commander Paul Brutus began his career in the fire service in 1958 in Marseille. On February 14, 1989 he died fighting a forest fire in the valley of Jas de Rhodes near at Pennes-Mirabeau. A street in Pennes-Mirabeau is named after him and every year on the anniversary of his death a wreath laying ceremony is held and it was announced on the 27th aniversary of his death that the new Marseilles fire boat would be named in his honour
