Tekmar has been awarded a contract by VBMS to supply its 7th generation of
TekLink cable protection system, bellmouths, cover disks and hang-offs
on Blyth offshore wind farm. The 66kV wind farm is wholly owned by EDF
Energies Nouvelles and is being built by EDF Energy Renewables. Nexans will
supply the cable which will be installed along with the CPS by VBMS in the
summer of 2017. The CPS, bellmouths, cover disks and hang-offs will be
manufactured in Tekmar’s production facility in the North East of England,
closely located to the actual wind farm site in Blyth. Jack Simpson, head of offshore wind sales at
Tekmar said, “The Blyth offshore wind farm, being the first 66kv project is particularly significant
for Tekmar, and the industry as a whole. This may mark a new standard moving forward, helping
further reduce the overall cost of energy
