I wonder what size of "Tall Ships" these will be?
Went to one in Liverpool a couple of years back and none of the big boys were there, in fact they all fitted inside the Albert Dock.

Given that the only open quay for Joe Public to wander along is the old Commissioner's and Dun Cow Quays then I would guess it would be the smaller variety.
Oh and there is a hotel to be built on the land adjacent to Commissioner's and is scheduled to be open this time next year. Call me a cynic :x

Yes be interesting to see which ships actually come to Blyth. The actual 'Tall Ships Race' starts on the 7th July in Antwerp with a call at Lisbon and ends on the 14th August in Cadiz.
The Blyth event is the 'North Sea Tall Ships Regatta' which attracts many of the smaller vessels. Hartlepool hosted the first Regatta and welcomed a number of Class A vessels but not the number the Press seems to expect.

The more that come the better and I for one will be taking full advantage of the situation and I hope local traders are given prime positions.
