CARGO FLEET NO. 3 (5063423) berthed River Tees on 18 May 1965, presumably at Cargo Fleet Wharf.
Completed by Fleming & Ferguson, Paisley, 1-1946 for Cargo Fleet Iron Co Ltd, in 1953 restyled South Durham Steel & Iron Co. Ltd; 988gt; 1972 sold and renamed MEGSTONE (Stephenson Clarke); BU River Medway 3.75.

Sorry it is not the most brilliant of photos, but ....??

In a way, I can make some personal connections with this one. My mother was born in Paisley, my dad worked at Cargo Fleet Iron and Steel works (as did my wife's father).

Dismiss my other message on Port craft forum now that I have found her although still interested in the Hopper that was beached during the War. She is at the Slag Chute which was next to the Graving Dock.

Interestiing stuff George, the Engineer off TCC No2 was on her when she blew up, he told me that he put his foot on some Bitts to tie his shoelace and the bitts came up and smashed him in the face knocking him out and that's all he remembered, he had no idea how he got to the Hospital . Interesting that the TCC INo2 was also built by Ropners and engined by Blair's a straight swap for him when he recovered as Blair engines were a bit odd to say the least.
Late correcting Bitts has two tt's not one
