Built in 1958 by Smith's Dock Co. Ltd. at South Bank for the North Yorkshire Shipping Co. Ltd.(Bolton Steam Shipping Co. Ltd. managers) The RIEVAULX had a Doxford engine, built under licence by Hawthorn, Leslie (Eng.) Ltd.

........and sister to Ribblehead,Redcar and Ripon...normal Summer loading about 13800 tons...not speedy but reliable.
