My first ever sighting of her was in Middlesbrough Dock on 12 July 1980, not long before the dock closed:

The PATRICIA was designed by R H Kingdom, the then Surveyor of shipping to Trinity House. She had bridge controlled diesel electric propulsion, consisting of two 600 kw generators driving two propulsion motors which gave her 1330 ihp.
Her engines used six tons of Gas Oil per day at full speed (14 kts) which made her very economical with an endurance of 9,240 miles.
Her weakness was a very small (50 tons) fresh water capacity and this was increased to 130 tons at a later date.
Another weakness was her 8 Ton derrick which was rigged with traditional hemp working gear, however her derrick could be stripped and stored in a couple of hours.
She had a 55' hold fitted with a 16' x 13' hatch on the foredeck.
During the War her boat deck was extended aft and a gun fitted for defence. Her boats were also altered at various points during her long service life.
