I'm fairly sure this unidentified and undated Albert Weller slide shows the MAPLEHURST sailing from the Tees
(later edit - looks like it is the MIDHURST! - see later post below):

MIDHURST and FERNHURST were sisters of course, all from Blyth yard in 1960/1961.

True, although the FERNHURST did not have those funnel extensions visible for the MAPLEHURST and MIDHURST.

A ships appearance can and does change at different times and if the Two pictures are of the same ship, the top picture is a later one...

The radio mast on the top of the Mainmast is different and also the top Picture has a more modern Radar Scanner than the bottom one.
The galley funnel has also lost its 'H' on the bottom one as well.

There is probably some great difference between the two but its certainly not staring us in the face!

The top picture is a very good match for Michael's picture of the MAPLEHURST but I wonder if the bottom one is actually the MIDHURST.

When you enlarge the second image the name MAPLEHURST is clearly visible.

Having compared Mick's views of the MIDHURST at: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10050
I have come to the conclusion that Albert Weller's unidentified slide shown above is also the MIDHURST.
Why? The after funnel exhaust of the MIDHURST is slightly taller and thinner than that of the MAPLEHURST!

A most interesting case of ship identification!
