Ah, I was hoping for the old LEADSMAN heading for Regent Oil at Thornaby ..... (viewtopic.php?f=43&t=8903)

I had to fool my scanner into making images from these four 9x6 negatives in my collection which I inherited many years ago from the collection of the late John (Paddy) Rutherford, a member of the Teesside Ship Society.
The location? This will give some Forumites a clue?

They had a brewery site in Stockton, so I suspect Paddy's shots do actually show the LEADSMAN at the Regent Oil berth in Thornaby. I have read that this old brewery, having been closed for some time, was demolished in 1959, so these views probably date from the mid-late 1950s.

Wonderful, Ron. My sighting of her was prior to April 1960 when I started a diary, if only for vessels like this one which appeared in the abc series and therefore had a higher status in life than 'the rest' ... well at least it meant some details were available in the days before LR was disovered! I probably saw her either at the Gare or maybe passing Tyne Tees/Dents on her way up to Thornaby.
