Hall Russell, Aberdeen 1950 for the British Electricity Authority, London.
1954; Central Electricity Authority.
1958; Central Electricity Generating Board.
She was temporarily fitted with Cable Laying Gear by the Penarth Pontoon and Slipway Company to lay a cable between England and France.
1966; Converted to a permanent cable layer by R & H Green and Silley Weir Ltd, London but spent a lot of her time laid-up at Shoreham.
1982; Sold to the Air-Land Corporation, Panama (Mgr. Raymond Wrightson, Darwen, Lancashire.) and converted back to a Dry-Cargo vessel, renamed DAME CAROLINE.

Breaking up, as above, commenced on the 6th March 1984.

DAME CAROLINE HASLETT at Sunderland in the early 1960s. I think they were called the Lambton Staithes, with the Vaux brewery in the background.

Dave I think they were locally referred to as the Lambton Drops.
