She was sold and became the CHERRY CRYSTAL (Singapore) in 1981. BU Alang 19.6.85
In Middlesbrough Dock on 20 January 1980 (a sunny day in January, what's going on?!). The ship-spotter's nightmare! I first saw this ship (I think) in August 1970 when she was being towed through Birkenhead Docks. As you can see the name on the bow is not one of the biggest to be seen and although I photographed the ship I simply could not quite make out the name. Oh, well, I thought, I'll get her a bit further on when in berth. Horror of horrors, by the time I got round there a little while later, what did I find? There were two of them! Her sistership HISTORIAN was also berthed! So, although I did count them as two different sightings, I've never been absolutely sure!
