1974 looks to have been the year my interest in ships became re-energised after a couple of years in the relative doldrums.
It was a year during which I stopped having my negatives printed as a matter of routine, partly because in late July that year I was contacted by John Collins from The Wirral asking if I might be interrested in exchanging negatives. This started as aspect of my hobby that I much enjoyed for around the next 25 years for most of this time taking duplicate black and white negative views to probide exchange material for contacts eventually all round the world. In 1974, as this post shows, I also had a passing interest in less familiar funnel colours.
And, oh, yes, 1974 was the year I got married - and we are still together.
