The car carrier NISSAN MARU in Tees Dock on 19/4/1976 when car carriers looked more like ships than today’s vessels, but were not so “pure”, i.e. they could also operate as bulk carriers.
This was before the Nissan plant opened at Sunderland in 1986.

17414gt. built 1970 at Maizuru Jukogyo, Maizuru (yn 141), she was broken up as the Panamanian KEE INVESTMENT in 1987.
