Presumably they were here when after a storm/tide surge lifted the lock
gates at King George Dock, Hull, preventing them entering.

They steamed around for a couple of days before NSFerries sent them to the Tees.

The Pilot was greeted at the top of the ladder by the Chief Steward saying "Are we really going in? "

He said thank goodness as he was desperate for stores as the passengers had eaten all the food!!

Yes, February 1990 was when we lost the inner lock gates at KG Dock, lifted off their pintles by a swell running up the lock, fortunately the staff managed to close the outer gates against the storm swell otherwise the dock would have drained! On same tide a bulker was aground below the lock entrance. And s**t all over from the sewage outlet!!
