Makes me think of the TOISA xxxxx vessels, maybe with a charterer's funnel.

Could be, the man to ask would be David Dodds up in Aberdeen, he must have seen them all over the years.

I think this could be one of Active Marine Offshore ship's from Norway this funnel mark looks familiar AMOS .They had a couple of PSV's come in to Hartlepool around 1977/78 their ships were pre fixed with name Active
the ships I remmber were:-
Active Guy
Active Duke
Active Prince

I posted Dave's suggestion on TugTalk and got the following response from Leon de Hoop:

"I think it's the Active Duke, build 1983, imo 7434690, only 2 were build of this type for Active Marine, type is UT706.
Ships build were the Active Duke and Active Guy and zooming in on the pic the second name is longer so i think it's the Active Duke"
