Edinburgh ship blaze could take week to bring under control, warn fire chiefs
17 Jun 2008 00:00

A BLAZE severely damaging a ship could take until the end of the week to extinguish, fire chiefs said yesterday.
Ten firefighters are tackling the blaze on the Viking Vulcan at Leith Docks in Edinburgh.
The fire began on Saturday and at its peak 30 firefighters attended.
No one was hurt but smoke was still coming from the ship. A probe in to the cause is under way

As ST. PHILLIP at Lowestoft 22/08/1990.

think the Miramar data is a bit suspect Dave, built as ST. PHILLIP not VIKING VULCAN

Thanks Patrick, I think you are right about Miramar being the issue.
The Miramar database has just been relaunched today with a new look. However it now looks as though whatever ship you search for is shown as the first name.
I have just searched for KERRY KATHLEEN and KERRY KATHLEEN now comes up as the first name in 1976 and then her name is changed to KERRY KATHLEEN in 1986.
There's a rabbit away somewhere.

Yes, Rodger Haworth of Miramar is aware of this problem (and other minor bugs in the system) and will be having them corrected as soon as possible.

Incidentally, the new write-up on Miramar reveals that Rodger originated from Yorkshire ... will have to find out which NEM port can claim his allegiance!

The Miramar search "bug" appears to be fixed today.
