Name is probably 'somethingKAWA MARU' , but that doesn't help much. There were a lot.
However she does look very much like MAKIKAWA MARU as seen on Shipspotting at
http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/pho ... id=1542609but she doesn't seem to have the K funnel although owned by KKK, and the last Japanese character of the name doesn't seem to match that on Albert's pic, so maybe she's a sister. (Am I right in thinking that on the starboard side the Japanese is read from right to left, so this would not be the character for MARU?)
But, I did see MAKIKAWA MARU in Tees Bay in August 1980, so she has been to the Tees.
