SS FIRBY

In 2008 I donated documents, relating to my father's time in the Merchant Navy, to Hartlepool Museums and Libraries Service. Sadly, the copies I had were lost but thanks to the Museums Service I managed to get them replaced. I was unaware, until I obtained the documentation, that my father had not only served on the SS Danby (which he always talked about to me) but also on SS Firby, SS Hartbridge and SS Eskbridge. I thought you might be interested in seeing this Argentinian immigration document from 1936 when my father was 31.

The SS FIRBY was built in 1926 by Wm.Gray & Co., West Hartlepool for the Ropner Shipping Co. Ltd. She was a war loss in 1939.

Great stuff, Stan.

I'm glad you managed to replace your copies.
I know the basics but I have very little information about my Great Grandfather.
