JESSIE ELLEN in Hartlepool Marina.
This afternoon I spoke to her skipper Fred Robinson, who gave me this information:
Jessie Ellen (SSR158369) was built in Cockenzie in East Lothian, Scotland and was re-named as ENTERPRISE in Whitby. In 1960 she was used as a passenger winter ferry in the Orkney Islands and during the summertime did trips on the Caledonian Canal. Mr. Robinson also informs me that, in the wheelhouse, she has carvings of her original name as Jessie Ellen.
According to a Boat Angler magazine, from July/August 1968, the vessel, known as ENTERPRISE back then, was shown as a charter/angling boat operating from Whitby and skippered by Tony Stevens.
