I was also remided, reading the February edition of Ships Monthly that she hit the airways on New Years Eve 2017, when she was disabled and adrift off the Dorset Coast in Storm Force Conditions. The tug KINGSTON (James Pollock & Sons, Faversham. 1962) owned by Griffin Towage of Poole, after eleven attempts, managed to get a line connected, by which time she was within 1,500m of the shore. The KINGSTON is not a large tug and only has a bollard pull of 23 tonnes, so her crew deserve a lot of credit for saving the vessel and towing her to the shelter of Poole Bay. Thanks to Kevin Mitchell, Maritime Mosaic, Ships Monthly.
